The Summer of ‘69 by Andrew Miqueli

Directed by Monti Cerabino

The Summer of ‘69 And the Children of the Bad Revolution was the start of Andy, Lindsey, and I’s collaboration that would grow into Theatre By Development. This show was a part of the 2020 Equinox Festival, an annual, completely student run new play festival at the University of the Arts. Equinox gave us the opportunity to tell stories that felt vital to us in an environment that encouraged exploration, risk taking, and bold leaps out of our comfort zone. This production was the first time that I felt that as a director I really was challenged with difficult subject matter and a duty to real people and events. It was a continuation in a personal exploration in ensemble building and developing an approach to creation centered in championing the whole.
